Election Commissioner Narendra Dahal said the printing of voter ID cards had also been over. The election body has made the ID card with photograph mandatory for casting vote.
The commission plans to distribute the cards on May 11, 12 and 13, from the polling stations to voters or one of their family members.
The Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra had been printing the ballots under the security of the Army since March 20. Other items required for the vote are also being sent to the districts, according to the EC.
The 65,000 ballot boxes in stock are with the District Election Offices. The deficit
is being supplied with the 30,000 boxes freshly imported from China.
The election authority has already finalised the voter list. The total number of eligible voters is 14,054,482.
With the opening of the election offices in all the 75 districts, poll preparation has effectively reached the ground. The EC now plans to open the offices of election officers for the remaining 669 local level units by April 25.
According to an election officer, the EC faced hardly any obstruction in carrying out these activities despite threats of the Madhes-based parties to foil the activities related to the polls.
