Speaking at eastern regional interaction on good-governance, compliance with accounting standards and auditing here in Dhankuta on Tuesday, Chief Secretary Paudyal underscored that the civil servants should maintain moral integrity and honesty while discharging their duties. He added the bureaucrats should rectify their attitude and behaviour to enhance their working ability.

He expressed sadness over lack of positive view of the people towards bureaucrats. He called on the civil servants to give up the feelings that the boss should be right for everything to be right and develop the enthusiasm to become good themselves regardless of others.

He said that no single person has a magic wand to build the nation and maintain good governance. "God won't come down from the sky and goddess Sita won't emerge out of earth surface. The nation would prosper only if we performed our responsibility in an earnest manner," said the chief secretary.

Informing that the government has been devising a system of transfers in accordance with ministry and position, the chief secretary warned that the government would take stern action against dishonest employees.
