Passenger bus falls into Karnali river in Dailekh

A passenger microbus operating along the Karnali Highway has fallen into the Karnali river in the Sangetada area of Dailekh district, officials said. Police have yet to confirm the cause of the crash, the number of passengers on board, and the extent of damage.
Preliminary information indicates that the Force microbus (Karnali Province 02-001 Kha 1055), which was travelling from Surkhet towards Kalikot, plunged into the river.
A police team from the District Police Office, Dailekh, has been deployed to the incident site. Authorities said rescue operations are underway, while further details are yet to be confirmed.
Police said they are still collecting information on the cause of the crash, the number of passengers on board, and the extent of damage.
The incident site is located in ward 7 of Chamunda Bindrasaini Municipality.
Police Inspector Rishikesh Gautam, information officer at the District Police Office, said a police team had already reached the site, while another team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrawan Kumar BK was en route.
Gautam said locals on the Achham side of the river first spotted the vehicle falling and informed the police.
