The Election Commission on Tuesday cancelled the candidacy of Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Kishori Sah Kamal in Dhanusha-1.
Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the nomination was scrapped as Sah was found to be on a blacklist.
According to the candidate’s personal details filed with the commission, Sah had disclosed that he was a shareholder of Kamal Nirman Sewa.
Dhanusha-1 Election Officer Manoj Baral said the commission annulled the candidacy based on a complaint filed with proof that Sah was blacklisted. He said his office has yet to receive the official letter regarding the cancellation.
A complaint seeking cancellation of Sah’s candidacy was filed at the office with documents showing that the company was blacklisted. The office recommended action to the Election Commission, Baral said.
