Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa will contest the House of Representatives elections from Sarlahi-4, party General Secretary Pradeep Paudel confirmed.
Thapa, who had previously won three times from Kathmandu-4, will file his nomination on Tuesday as first-past-the-post candidates across the country submit their applications for the March 5 polls.
Former party President Sher Bahadur Deuba will not contest the elections. Deuba had won seven times from Dadeldhura.
