A female rhino was found dead after sinking in a swamp near Gundrahi Dhakah, Kawasoti-15, adjacent to the Madhyabarti Community Forest in the buffer zone of Chitwan National Park.
According to Abinash Thapa Magar, conservation officer at the park, the rhino had gone to drink water when it became trapped in the swamp and died on Tuesday morning. The park confirmed that the rhino’s horn and hooves were found safe.
