Landslides block Kaligandaki Corridor at two locations in Gulmi
Recurring landslides cause hardships for travellers along the road.

The Kaligandaki Corridor has been blocked at two locations in Gulmi district.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru, who is also the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Gulmi, the road has been obstructed at Gargare in ward 1 and Barlawa in ward 6 of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality.
Large landslides carrying huge rocks blocked the road at both sites on Sunday morning. These locations have witnessed frequent obstructions in the past, causing significant inconvenience to travellers using the corridor. Locals have also been affected.
A team from the Purtighat police post has been deployed to the landslide-hit areas. Police said they are coordinating with the local government and construction contractors to clear the debris and reopen the road.
The area along the Kaligandaki Corridor is prone to landslides. Mudslides frequently obstruct the route, police added.
