CIAA files corruption case against sub-engineer
The anti-graft body accuses the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority staff of amassing illegal property worth over Rs36.3 million.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Kumar Paudyal, a sub-engineer at the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority, at the Special Court.
Paudyal, who was working under the Divyeshwari Land Pooling Project in Bhaktapur, has been accused of accumulating illegal property worth Rs36.32 million.
According to the CIAA, this amount could not be accounted for when comparing his legal income and expenses between April 1994 and July 2023.
The anti-graft body in the chargesheet has demanded imprisonment and a fine against him as per Clause 3 and Sub-clause 2 of Clause 29 of the erstwhile Corruption Prevention Act, 1960, and Sub-clause 2 of Clause 20 of the current Corruption Prevention Act, 2002.
