The Makawanpur District Police Office arrested seven teenagers on Thursday under rape charges.
A young woman had filed a case stating that she was raped at 8:30 am on January 19 near the Banaskhandi temple in Hetauda-2.
According to Makawanpur’s Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shyamu Aryal, the police arrested the suspects after the victim reported the incident on Wednesday, March 5.
“Following her complaint, we arrested the alleged perpetrators on Thursday, who were dispersed in different areas of Hetauda,” Aryal said.
The suspects, all of whom are below 18 years of age, have been placed under five days of custody with the court’s permission for further investigation.
