A four-year-old girl and a 14-year-old teenager were raped in separate places in Saptari district. The incidents, which occurred on February 26, have sparked outrage and prompted swift police action.

In the first case, a four-year-old girl from Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality–7 was allegedly raped by a neighbour. The suspect, who was asked by the victim’s mother to drop the child to a relative’s house on a motorcycle, took her to an isolated location instead. The girl was later found unconscious and abandoned near her home. She was admitted to Gajendranarayan Hospital for treatment due to severe bleeding.

Police Inspector Dhakendra Khatiwada confirmed that the investigation into the case has been intensified, and efforts are underway to bring the perpetrator to justice.

In a separate incident on the same day, a 14-year-old girl from Mahadeva Rural Municipality was raped by a 17-year-old neighbour. The teenager was lured into a shop under false pretences and assaulted at night. The accused has since been arrested, and further investigation is ongoing.
