The education, health and information technology committee of the House of Representatives has directed the government to immediately rectify errors found in the MBBS and public health entrance exam results published by the medical education commission.
During a meeting held on Wednesday at Singha Durbar, the committee concluded that the commission had made significant errors in the entrance exam results and instructed the government to correct these errors while ensuring the confidence of the general public and the affected students.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, along with the Ministry of Health and Population, have been instructed to correct the errors immediately, Ammar Bahadur Thapa, chairman of the committee, said after the meeting. “The errors were so severe that the marks of one student were reportedly published under another student's name.”
According to him, the committee has asked the government to form an investigation committee and submit a report within 10 days.
Responding to the committee’s concern, Bidya Bhattarai, minister for education, science, and technology, acknowledged the commission’s error as serious and committed to moving forward with the investigation.
