Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, foreign minister of Oman, paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday.
Albusaidi, who arrived in Nepal on a two-day official visit on Monday, met with President Paudel at the President’s office, Sheetal Niwas, and with Prime Minister Oli at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar this afternoon.
According to President Paudel’s secretariat, the President suggested that establishing an Omani embassy in Kathmandu would benefit both countries, especially given the increasing number of Nepali workers in Oman.
President Paudel also proposed direct air connectivity between the two countries, noting that it could facilitate trade, boost tourism, and further strengthen people-to-people relations, according to Kiran Pokharel, the President’s press adviser.
Earlier, the visiting foreign minister called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu.
“Various issues related to mutual interest and bilateral relations between Nepal and Oman were discussed during the meeting,” Prime Minister Oli’s secretariat stated.
Minister Albusaidi arrived in Kathmandu on Monday at the invitation of Foreign Minister Arzu Rana.
