Prime Minister Dahal returns home from India
Meets Indian leaders after attending Modi's swearing-in ceremony in New Delhi. Invited Indian investors to start ventures in Nepal.Post Report
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal returned home on Monday evening, completing his two-day visit to India. On Sunday, he left for the Indian capital city to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Dev Raj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, Cabinet ministers, and chiefs of security bodies, among other high-ranking government officials, received the prime minister at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
A consignment of the Nepal Army offered a guard of honour in respect of the prime minister.
During his stay in India, Prime Minister Dahal met Indian President Droupadi Murmu, his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, and newly appointed Indian Union Minister S Jaishankar.
The prime minister was accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri and Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal among others.
In New Delhi, a delegation of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) also called on the prime minister.
During the interactions with the Indian business community, Dahal urged Indian investors to start ventures in tourism, energy, agriculture and various other sectors that could be favourable for them. He also informed the Indian investors that the Nepal government had recently amended laws to make the policies investment-friendly.
