Ten dead, 30 injured in Kapilvastu bus accident

A total of ten people and 30 others were injured when a bus met with an accident at Shivaraj Municipality-1 of Kapilvastu district along the East-West Highway in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
According to police, the bus heading to Kathmandu from Mahendranagar veered off the road and fell some 200 metres down at around 1am causing the casualties.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Oli of Kapilvastu District Police Office said the identity of all those killed in the accident has been established. The deceased are a 46-year-old man of Rautahat, a Nepal Army soldier of Salyan, an Indian national and five men and two women of Kanchanpur.
Police Inspector Navratna Paudel said nine injured are receiving treatment in Butwal while others in Kapilvastu.
