Child dies of cold in Jajarkot

A 12-year-old child of Chhedagad Municipality-8 succumbed to cold on Saturday.
His family was living under a tent after the house was destroyed by the earthquake.
According to local Birkha Bahadur Giri, the child had pneumonia. He was taken to a health post at Pajaru in Chhedagad-9 for treatment.
Birkha Bahadur Sharki, the deceased father, said the child died at 2am on Saturday after he was discharged from the health post.
The magnitude 6.4 earthquake with epicentre in Jajarkot on November 4 rendered hundreds of people homeless. Survivors are forced to spend nights under an open sky as the construction of temporary shelters is sluggish.
A total of 23 earthquake survivors have died of cold so far in the districts. Jajarkot and Rukum West were worst hit by the disaster last month.
