Investment Board approves investment of Rs36.37 billion for four hydroprojects

The Investment Board Nepal has approved investments worth a total of Rs 36.37 billion for four hydropower projects–Rolwaling Khola (22 MW), Chhujung Khola (63 MW), Dana Khola (49.95 MW) and Sanibheri Hydropower Project (44.52 MW).
A meeting of the board chaired by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday also decided to form a high-level committee to review the current progress on the implementation of the Tamor Reservoir Hydropower Project and submit suggestions regarding the future direction of the project.
Similarly, the meeting decided to allow Dolma Himalayan Energy for the study of a hydro electric project of 245 MW and 20 MW battery capacity solar energy project in Rajpur rural municipality of Dang district.
The board accepted the detailed feasibility study report submitted by Risen Energy Company for the development of a 250 MW solar energy project at Kohalpur in Banke and Baanganga in Kapilvastu.
The board also decided to submit a proposal to the Cabinet for the implementation of the directive order issued by the Supreme Court regarding the Upper Karnali Hydropower Project.
The meeting of the board also approved the draft agreement to be signed with Malaysia-based reNIKOLA Sdn Bhd to conduct a study regarding the establishment of Green Calcium Nitrate Fertilizer Factory.
