Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba nominates Rijal to the central working committee as per the party statute.
Post Report
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday nominated Minendra Rijal as the central working committee member.
Krishna Prasad Paudel, chief secretary at the central office of the party, said Rijal was nominated as per the Clause 21(10) of the party statute.
As per the clause, the party president can nominate 33 people among central convention representatives who have been active in the party for at least ten years to the central committee.
Rijal, who had contested for the post of party’s general secretary from the Shekhar Koirala camp, had also resigned as defence minister after he was defeated in the party’s general convention.
Rijal, who was elected as a federal lawmaker from Morang-2 in 2017, was denied an election ticket in the general election last year.
