Independent Lumbini provincial assembly member Dipendra Pun Magar rejoined the CPN (Maoist Centre) on Wednesday.
Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal inducted Magar into the party at a function held at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar. Magar, who had filed a rebel candidacy against the official candidate of the then ruling alliance, was elected from Rolpa-2 provincial constituency receiving 14,927 votes.
The Maoists had supported Amar Singh Pun of the Nepali Congress in the elections. Magar had resigned from the post of politburo member and Rolpa district in charge and filed an independent candidacy. He was later expelled from the party for filing the candidacy.
Magar submitted a self-criticism letter to Maoist Chairman Dahal and re-entered the party.
“I would like to return to the party and express my commitment to fulfil the responsibilities assigned,” Magar said in the letter.
