United States, Pakistani prime minister congratulate PM Dahal

The United States on Monday afternoon congratulated Nepal’s newly appointed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
“The United States congratulates Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his coalition on their victory in Nepal's federal election,” the US Embassy in Kathmandu said in a statement.
“We are proud to have robust and longstanding ties with Nepal and will continue to stand with the Government of Nepal to promote issues of bilateral, regional, and global importance, such as achieving sustainable economic growth and strengthening democracy and human rights.”
The statement said Nepal’s commitment to democracy is an example to countries around the world, and it commends all those involved, adding the embassy looks forward to supporting Nepal as it continues to deepen its democratic traditions.
US Ambassador Dean R. Thompson took to social media to congratulate Dahal.
“Congratulations to @cmprachanda on his appointment as PM. Looking forward to further strengthening our 75-yr partnership & working together to support democracy, human rights, and economic growth,” Thompson wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Dahal on his appointment.
“Heartiest felicitations to Rt Hon’ble Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on becoming Prime Minister of Nepal [sic],” Sharif wrote on Twitter. “As regional partners, Pakistan & Nepal enjoy cordial relations. I look forward to working with him to further strengthen our bilateral ties & regional cooperation.”
Earlier on Sunday evening, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal congratulated Dahal on being appointed as the 44th Prime Minister of Nepal.
