Biswas Baral has been appointed the new Editor of The Kathmandu Post. The 41-year-old has over two decades of experience in English journalism in Nepal. Baral previously served as the editor-in-chief of The Annapurna Express, a national news weekly.
Prior to that, he held various editorial responsibilities in The Himalayan Times and Republica. He holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the Tribhuvan University and an Executive MBA from the Ace Institute of Management.
Baral replaces Sanjeev Satgainya, who held the Post’s editorship for two and a half years.
“We hope the new editor can give continuity to the high standards of English journalism that The Kathmandu Post has been reputed for over the years,” said Kailash Sirohiya, Kantipur Media Group’s chairman and managing director, during an event while welcoming Baral.
