Journalist Pushkar Lal Shrestha dies at 60

Pushkar Lal Shrestha, the editor-in-chief of Nepal Samacharpatra, a vernacular daily, died on Wednesday at the age of 60.
Shrestha died while undergoing treatment at Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu at 11:49am, according to Kamana Prakashan Samuha, the publisher of the Nepal Samacharpatra.
He had undergone a nose surgery and also had kidney stones removed some five and a half months ago. He had recovered well after the surgery but was not keeping well for quite some time after he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare disorder in which body's immune system attacks nerves.
A journalist for 30 years, Shrestha was the founder of Kamana Prakashan Samuha, which besides Nepal Samacharpatra publishes Kamana, a monthly movie magazine.
