UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushap Kamal Dahal have reached an agreement to form a 441-member Central Committee. UML and Maoist Centre will have 241 and 200 members respectively.
Oli and Dahal have decided to form a 43-member Standing Committee. The electoral symbol of the unified party will be sun. Both the Chairmen will jointly lead the party until the General Convention.
Chairman Oli had briefed the party Standing Committee meeting about the agreement made with Dahal today.
The agreements reached between the two leaders will be tabled at the meeting of Party Unity Coordination Committee (PUCC) on Thursday and will be given final shape, UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai said.
Both the parties will endorse the decision made by the PUCC. The UML has summoned its Central Committee meeting for the same on Thursday.
UML Vice-Chairman Bam Dev Gautam claimed that the unification between the two parties will be announced on Thursday.
Oli and Dahal are scheduled to address a meeting to be held at the UML’s old party office in Balkhu.
