80 High Court judges appointed

A meeting of the JC headed by Chief Justice Sushila Karki appointed 5 judges from law, government attorney and judicial administration, 34 judges from sitting district court judges, 10 from retired justices of appellate court, 6 from joint-registrar and law joint-secretaries and 25 from advocates.
Meanwhile, senior justice and JC member Baijanath Upadhayay, who will retire coming Friday, despite being on the meeting did not sign on the appointment decision.
Likewise, Ram Prasad Sitaula, a JC member recommended from Nepal Bar Association, remained absent during the meeting.
The appointment was endorsed by a majority decision of CJ Karki, Padam Baidik, PM’s nominee for the council and Law Minister Ajay Shanker Nayak.
