Panel fails to send Parbat restructuring report
The technical committee of the Local Level Restructuring Committee in Parbat has failed to send the restructuring proposal to the LLRC.The technical committee of the Local Level Restructuring Committee in Parbat has failed to send the restructuring proposal to the LLRC.
As the locals and parties fail to find accord on the number of village and municipal councils to be formed in the district even after a two-week long discussion, the team has made no recommendations.
Committee coordinator Yubaraj Paudel said the commission would now make the decision. He added that there were differences between the political parties and individuals on how to restructure the district.
The commission had asked the technical committee to form four to seven local units in Parbat. Local residents, parties and lawmakers have pressed the technical committee to carve out the units to suit their interests.
Rajan Chhetri, a resident of Kurgha, said restructuring of local units was not going to be easy, warning the committee and political leaders not to make recommendations without the consent of the people.
The LLRC has received reports from 64 districts.
