Snake bite cases on the rise

With the summer heat beating down, a daily average of people visiting the Centre for snake bite treatment has crossed five, Centre's Administrative Board Chairman Biwash Pokharel said.
A total of 135 people have received treatment for snake bite until June 11, Pokharel said, while the number of cases a month before was recorded at 94.
At the District Hospital Inaruwa, the number of snake bite cases was recorded at 15 in the same period, according to the Hospital.
The snake bite cases arrive from Sunsari, Jhapa, Morang, Bhojpur and Tethrathun districts in particular.
The Centre, which operates with 16 beds, has been providing cost free treatment and anti-snake venom. The patients are required to pay for any other necessary medication. RSS
