The government attorney, on behalf of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, had on Wednesday filed a case against the doctors seeking jail terms of three years.
According to Dhurba Upreti, spokesperson for the court, the statements from the nine other doctors would be recorded on Friday. A verdict is expected later in the day.
The CIB arrested 13 doctors last month on the charge of producing false certificates of passing the School Leaving Certificate and higher secondary exams. Some of the arrestees had even forged their medical degrees.
The charges against the doctors are based on the Nepal Medical Council Act-1964 that says anyone producing false credentials to practice medicine faces a jail term of three years or Rs3,000 fine or both.
