Senior Nepali Congress (NC) leaders—Acting President Ram Chandra Poudel and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, who are gearing up to run for party presidency, have offered the post of prime minister to each other.
At a press meet organising a press conference at his contact office in Anamnagar, Kathmandu on Thursday, Deuba urged Poudel to support his candidacy for the post of president and offered him the post of NC parliamentary party leader and Prime Ministerial candidate. In response to Deuba’s appeal, Poudel said he won’t be lured by any kind of greed. Instead, he offered Deuba to become the prime minister and president.
“I won’t be lured by any kind of greed. Let Deuba ji become the prime minister,” said leader Poudel. He went on to say that his candidacy for the party president is to unite the party and the party need him to remain active.
Poudel, however, did not announce his candidacy for party chief right away. He said said his candidacy would be announced with a clear roadmap to bolster party’s position in national politics.
