Police arrested an Indian national with a large amount of Indian currency from Nepalgunj Bus Park in Banke district on Friday.
The arrestee identified as Rahul Jaiswal, a businessman from the bordering town of Rupaidiha, was held in possession of IRs 5, 11,230. Acting on a tip-off, a team from Nepalgunj Police led by Inspector Deependra Pal went to the bus park and caught Jaiswal red-handed.
“It is illegal to carry Indian currency worth more than IRs 25,000 in Nepal,” said Inspector Pal, “It has been revealed that Pal had been carrying out the money exchange business since a long time.”
A proprietor of a grocery business in Rupaidiha, Amit will be handed over to Inland Revenue Office with the arrested amount.
