Preisdent Yadav made statement amid rumours of his candidacy for the post of president once again.
“Nepal needs a Madhesi representative in the government. I will serve the country once again if the country and the political parties elect me to become the President. I am ready to shoulder any responsibility for Nepal as I have done in the past,” said President Yadav in his interview with The Hindu.
The Hindu said that an understanding has been reached between Nepali political leaders to elect a Madhesi President after the election of KP Sharma Oli “a Pahari Brahmin” to the post of prime minister.
The Indian daily said that the Presidential election slated for October 27 is a test of political acumen of parliament.
