Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur has said the country is striding towards disintegration due to the inflexibility on the part of three major political parties.
Speaking at press conference in Janakpur on Sunday, Chairman Thakur said, “Three parties are trying to promulgate the new constitution ignoring the voices raised by Madhesi, Tharu, Adivasi, Janjati, among other marginalised groups. This has marched the nation towards the path of disintegration.”
Chairman Thakur accused that the government does not seem positive on holding talks with the discontent parties/groups. “There is now no relevance for sitting in talks,” he added.
The ongoing protest of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha against the new federal set up has entered 22nd day today. Mahato said the protest will continue unless their demands are addressed.
