Two die in Everest region
One person died and two others have been injured due to an avalanche occurred on Mt Ama Dablam at Khumjung-7 on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Dendi Sherpa of Juving VDC-3. The avalanche occurred at around 6 am. Similarly, 42-year-old Hans Rudolef and 35-year-old Tina Rufela Graf, both Swiss nationals, have sustained injury in the incident. Rudolef suffers a broken back while Graf has received general injuries, police said. They have been brought to Kathmandu for treatment.
Likewise, an Italian mountaineer died due to altitude sickness while climbing the 6186- metre-tall Mt Kyajari at Namche-9, Solukhumbu on Monday. Robert Gassary, 59, fainted at 9 am on Monday while climbing the mountain and died immediately, Police Inspector Khagendra Bahadur Khadka said.
His body has been airlifted to Kathmandu today. The Italian was on mountaineering expedition from the Thamserku Trekking Pvt Ltd, it is stated. RSS
