NSU leader remanded to judicial custody
The District Forest Office of Dhading on Tuesday remanded Nepal Students Union (NSU) leader Shuva Ram Basnet to 10 days of judicial custody for further investigation.

Basnet, who is also the president of NSU chapter of Kathmandu-based Shanker Dev Campus, along with six others were arrested by Dhading police at Thakre VDC of the district along the Prithivi Highway.
He was arrested along with Harish Chandra Bhandari, ROshan Khadka, Raman Rai of Kathmandu, Madan Thapa of Tanahun and Chandra Gadaili of Dhanusha. The office of the government attorney extended the remand of the arrested individuals by 10 days citing further investigation in the case.
They were arrested while they were returning to Kathmandu after hunting a deer at the local community forest with a dead deer in the trunk of their car registered Na 2 Cha 4057. The police also confiscated 22 magnum rifle and 19 round bullets informed DSP Prakash Malla.
DSP Malla said that Basnet confessed to shooting the deer to kill during the police investigation.
District Forest Office Krishna Prasad Adhikari informed that the police handed over the arrested individuals to the DFO and their statements were taken by the investigating officer assigned by the office. Assistant Forest Officer and investigation officer Binod Kumar Regmi took the statements of 6 others on Tuesday.
The DFO has informed that according to preliminary investigations the arrested individuals are found to be guilty and the office is preparing to file cases against them under the National Park and Wildlife Conservation Act.
Prior to this, Basnet had been arrested with an illegal weapon in Kathmandu.
