Indian social media platform Zktor set to hit app stores
The new social media app would be ‘free from digital colonialism’.Post Report
At a time when American and Chinese social media platforms are dominating the world, a new Indian social media platform is all set to launch with an ambitious goal.
At a press conference in Kathmandu on Saturday, representatives of Zktor announced that they are going to launch the new social media app, which would be ‘free from digital colonialism’.
“Zktor is not just another app, it is a declaration of digital emancipation for South Asia,” said a statement issued by the Zktor. “It is the first platform to boldly assert that a user is not a product but a human being, whose dignity, privacy, and identity cannot be subordinated to an algorithm. Unlike Silicon Valley’s templates, Zktor’s foundations were laid on the realities, struggles and cultural sensitivities of South Asia.”
This is precisely why it is being hailed as the world’s first “By-Design Freedom Platform,” the statement added, “a system where security, dignity, privacy and autonomy emerge from architecture, not policy.
“At the heart of this revolution lies Zktor’s zero behaviour tracking model.”
The statement further said that the app would not engage in algorithmic manipulation. “In a world where social platforms meticulously log every click, scroll, pause, facial cue and behavioural pattern to build psychological fingerprints, Zktor shatters the entire chain,” the statement read. “Here, there is no tracking, no profiling, no algorithmic manipulation. There is no engineered feed, no nudging, and no behavioural steering… Users see only what they choose to see.”
The company also claimed that while using the app, user data is encrypted so thoroughly that it remains unknown even to the platform itself.
Messages, media, identity and activity stay sealed from every form of surveillance, profiling or misuse, reads the statement.
Zktor has also claimed it would introduce a women-first social structure.
