Himalayan Bank has become the first bank in Nepal to use National Payments Interface (NPI) enabling customers to make payments to the government using mobile banking from February 1.

The bank has extended the channel of NCHL's NPI to integrate and process such transactions. Himalayan Bank has been providing real-time online funds transfer through its mobile banking channel using the underlying system of Connect IPS.
The facility to make payments to the government through mobile banking has been offered as an additional service, which is expected to help customers and modernise revenue collection, the bank said.
