Setting a historic record, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) has reached an all time high of 1,192 points. The rise can be attributed to a number of factors including recent political development, call for increasing paid up capital for banks and the recently started mandatory paperless transaction of the banks’ shares.
Earlier, the Nepse set the record of 1,175.38 points on August 31, 2008.
The secondary market has been undergoing upward spiral for the last few days. On Wednesday too, the market followed an upward trend and crossed the past record point at 1:38 pm before the market closed at 1,192 points.
