Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun graced the event held at the ambassador’s residence in Bansbari as the chief guest along with personalities from various walks of life and Australians living in Nepal.
“Australia Day is a day for Australians to reflect on what it means to be Australian and to celebrate our cultural diversity. Through pure weight of numbers, Nepalis are also playing an increasing role in this celebration,” Ambassador Budd said in his address during celebrations of the Australia Day reception on Thursday.
“With our modest levels of investment we want to make a difference, to enable Nepal to better leverage its natural resources and build its human capital to meet its development ambitions,” Ambassador Budd said.
“We recognise the immense challenges ahead. We offer our support, where we can, to the Nepali people to meet those challenges.”
