Nepal has adopted these policies and provisions to address poverty, unemployment and discrimination, and to ensure safe workplace for women, Khadka told the session. He also highlighted the progress of the country in securing women’s leadership in key positions.
A press statement issued by Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN said that Minister Khadka also acknowledged the challenges that still lie ahead to ensure the basic rights and security of migrant women, in formalising the informal economy and in recognising the unpaid women’s domestic work in the GDP.
Khadka is leading the Nepali delegation to the 61st session of the CSW which is deliberating on the theme “Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Changing World of Work” this year.
