The foundation stone of the school building was laid in March 2010 by then Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood and Swami Ramdev.
“In line with our pursuit of excellence in education, a new school block to accommodate more students and provide an ideal environment for quality learning has been constructed,” the school said in a press statement. “With this new venture, the school hopes to keep the tradition of providing quality education in the best environment.”
Established 38 years ago, MIS has always been a front face of the Indian diaspora of Nepal, bringing the Nepali and Indian communities together.
Acharya Balkrishna, a close aide to Swami Ramdev, was also present. School Principal Raju Peter, Headmistress Maya Rana and other dignitaries also attended the inauguration ceremony.
