Lalitpur
Minister for Industry Navindra Raj Joshi on Friday inspected the methane gas plant at Imadol, Lalitpur. The plant was constructed with government investment of around Rs 1.5 million as the pilot project.
Earlier, the Department of Mines and Geology had drilled the area for the extraction of gas. On the occasion, Minister Joshi said extraction of gas would be of a great help in various ways, ensuring the continuation of such projects in the future.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JAICA) in 1980 had presented a report stating possibility of petroleum gas at Imadol. However, no works for gas exploration were initiated.
