The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has chargesheeted three people over procurement of tarpaulin sheets after the earthquakes last year.
The CIAA filed a case against Kathmandu LDO Tirtha Raj Bhattarai, Accounts Officer Yam Nath Sharma and Store-keeper Chiranjivi Khadka at the Special Court on Tuesday. It has sought over Rs3.5 million each in damages from the trio. In cases filed against Mithile-shwor Tiwari of New Pashu-pati Trade and Suppliers, Jhanka Prasad Gautam of Dipesh Enterprises and Hom Prasad Gautam of Sewika Enterprises, Rs2,334,000, Rs893,000 and Rs378,000 have been sought in damages. Tents bought for Rs300,000, were sold at Rs4.3 million. (PR)
