‘The Age of an Edge’ by Uprety launched
A book entitled “The Age of an Edge” authored by Mitra Prasad Uprety was launched at Nepal Academy Hall in Kamaladi amidst the presence of around 100 academicians, litterateurs, professionals, and media persons.

During the program, Prof. Abhi Subedi, Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Uprety, Anand Aditya gave their remarks on the book and the author.
The book talks about global problems, brought about by uncontrolled growth of technology, giving rise to a ruthless culture of violence, drugs, environmental rape, and radical fundamentalism and the scope for super-mistakes and super-diseases.
It has been ushering in spiritual and physical orders everywhere and also break-up of social structures and loss of emotional and psychological reference points.
Peace, progress and prosperity demand that environment and development complement each other along with a bold, benign innovative step in education, the book says. The book includes 12 essays; 42 poems and 26 reflections which are extractions from the essays.
Mitra Prasad Uprety, a civil engineer, is a retired government employee. He started writing articles and poetries in the 1990s until early 2000 on contemporary issues. This book, a compilation of essays and poetries, comes as his debut venture. In ‘The Age of an Edge’, Uprety shares thought-provoking and analytical writings on science and technology with spiritual and humanitarian bent.
