At least four persons were killed and 27 others were injured in a jeep accident at Bokhar village in Jhadewa-2,  Palpa district, on Friday. Condition of three of the injured is said to be critical.

The overcrowded jeep (Lu 1 Wa 1922)  heading to Gothadi from the district headquarters Tansen fell some 400 metres on a hairpin bend, police said. The victims  have been identified as Rambha Devi Gaha, 60, of Jhadewa-5; Khadga Chauhan, 24, of Rahbas-6; Bhumisara Baral, 75, of  Rahabas-5; and Tek Bahadur Luichey Magar, 71, of Godathi. The injured, including two children, were taken to Lumbini  Medical College for treatment.

According to the hospital, three persons are in critical condition. The Parbat District  Traffic Police Office said the speeding vehicle had lost its control. Meanwhile, 14 people were injured after a passenger  bus veered off the road at Kimbot, Bihu VDC-2 along the Madhya Pahadi Lokmarga in Baglung district on Friday morning. The  night bus (Na 4 Ka 9217), en route to Burtibung from the Capital, had 25 people on board. Deputy Superintendent of Police  Chakra Bahadur Singh said the injured are receiving care at Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital.
