The Nepal Army (NA) has said that it would call back its armies stationed in the riot-hit areas to the barracks after fulfilling their responsibility of maintaining peace and creating social harmony.
The NA said that the army has been deputed in some riot-hit areas as per Local Administration Act, which allows the District Administration Office to seek assistance from the army to maintain peace in case of the outbreak of clash after declaring affected area as riot-hit zone.
Saying that the army has been deputed just to assist local administration to maintain peace in the area, the army's Directorate of Public Relations has requested all not to mistake the this assignment for mobilisation.
The NA said that the army is fulfilling its responsibility to save lives and property of people and the government in the riot-hit areas by coordinating with the concerned bodies and exercising restraint as per the laws.
