Laxman Tharu among 22 booked for murder over Tikapur carnage
Police have lodged murder cases against 22 people, including Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Loktantrik Central Committee member Laxman Tharu, for their alleged involvement in Tikapur incident that claimed nine lives on August 24.

DSP Bishwo Raj Khadka at District Police Office said, “The culprits will be presented before court within two days.”
Police have so far arrested 40 people for their alleged involvement in Tikapur carnage. Of them, 18 people have been released on general date. Still few leaders and cadres involved in the incident are at large, informed police.
Laxman Tharu was arrested from Rupandehi district last Wednesday.
Also, those facing murder charge include Lahuram Chaudhary, the district chairman of Tharu Kalyankari Sabha, and MJF-L leader Ram Prasad Chaudhary.
Of those framed, 19 are from Tharu Kalyankari Sabha and MJF-Loktantrik.
