Locals and police worked together in Laltipur's Karyabinayak to destroy the plants which grew 'out of control'
Police and locals together destroyed three trucks of cannabis also known as the ‘marijuana plant’ in Lalitpur’s Karyabinayak municipality, this morning.
According to Inspector Bishworam Nagarkoti, police from the Metropolitan Police Sector- Lalitpur, along with locals collected the plants after it started growing out of control in Karyabinayak municipality's ward number 15 and 16. “The locals complained that it was growing everywhere and they asked for help,” he said.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Pitambar Adhikari, said this was one part of a large campaign against drug usage. He said they have carried out such action in Bungmati and Khokana in Latipur before. “We have carried out awareness programs and a result people came to us and complained that things were growing out of control,” he said.

Cannabis is generally used in three main forms: marijuana, hashish and hash oil. Marijuana is made from dried flowers and leaves of the cannabis plant.
