He was admitted to the Hospital on Sunday afternoon after he complained of irregular heartbeats.
A team led by Dr Bharat Rawat and Dr Sujeev Raj Bhandari successfully placed the battery-powered device in Shah's chest. The electronic device is implanted just below the collarbone to help regulate life-threatening electrical problems with the heart.
"He is recovering at the ICU. The operation was advised by his doctors in Bangkok," said Dr Rawat. "Shah’s condition is currently stable and is likely to remain in the hospital for another three days."
On February, 2013, Shah had suffered a major heart attack and was admitted at the Bangkok-based Samitivej Hospital for a month.
In 2007 too Shah had undergone an emergency angioplasty at the Norvic Hospital.
Shah had recently returned to Nepal from Bangkok. Shah was held twice by police for destroying property at his rented apartment in central Bangkok and for possession of contraband drugs in 2013.
