CA member helps build temporary classrooms
A group of volunteers led by CA member Arjun Prasad Joshi have built makeshift classrooms at the Bal Jyoti Primary School in Parbat. The 20-member volunteer team first cleared the debris and then constructed three-roomed temporary classrooms.
The classrooms are made of tarpaulin and wood.
“We sought out our CA member after no one approached us with help. The entire length of the wall of our small playground has collapsed, and we were not able to build the tents ourselves,” said Principal Hari Tiwari. “The parents of almost all the children are labourers. And if the volunteers had not helped us out, the children probably would have quit school.”
The Biswo Jyoti Higher Secondary School in the district has also begun started holding classes in temporary classrooms, and these too were built by Joshi’s volunteers. Joshi said that it was his duty to help the needy people. “I have asked for the support of other people too. And the way the support is pouring in, we will be able to complete building temporary classrooms for almost all the schools in the next two weeks,” said Joshi.
