Maiti Nepal says that at least 30,000 people have

benefitted from its relief supplies, which has included food, oil, salt, clothes, mosquito nets, tarpaulins, tents and medicines.

Jafe in Dolakha; Rautbesi, Sinche, Chilaune, Baskote, Arkaule, Kakani, Mahadev Danda and Ghyangfedi in Nuwakot; Baruwa, Sikharpur and Duwachaur in Sindhupalchok; Thaplegaun, Masini, Badbhanjyang and Besigaun in Kathmandu; Bhattedanda, Pyutar, Lakuribhanjyang, Ikudol and Siddhipur in Lalitpur; and Dapcha, Purano Gaun, Daraune Pokhari, Baseri Gaun, Balthali and Khopasi in Kavre are some of the villages that were part of Maiti Nepal’s relief operation.

According to Maiti Nepal Chairperson Anuradha Koirala, the organisation is shifting its focus toward rebuilding after the initial phase of relief distribution.

“We have planned to distribute galvanised corrugated roof sheets in affected areas,” she said in a press statement on Tuesday.

Further, Maiti Nepal has pledged to take in 200 children who have lost their families to the earthquake and are at risk of being trafficked.

At present, 34 affected children are already taking shelter at Maiti Nepal.
