Clash in Inaruwa over office relocation
At least 15 people have been injured after police took to baton-charge during a protest against the government decision to relocate the Land Revenue Office from Inaruwa.

Members of Sunsari Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), land law professionals, cadres of political staged a “peaceful demonstration” outside the entrance of Land Revenue Office at Inaruwa. The government administration has decided to move the unit office of Land Revenue Office from Inaruwa to Dharan.
Local Bidur Khatiwada was among those injured during the clash.
According to Sunsari CCI President Pramod Acharya, police resorted to baton-charge after mistaking the protester’s attempt to talk and convince a service seeker for beating him. He clarified that the protestors were actually trying to convince the service seeker to go out of the office as he entered the office by disregarding the protesters’ prohibition.
The Land Revenue Office area became tense following the police baton-charge. The protestors shut down the market places and industries and obstructed vehicular movement on the East-West highway by burning tyres on the street.
They have warned of continuing their protests if the decision to shift the Land Revenue Office was not withdrawn.
