Four members of a family died in a fire caused by electric short circuit in Dhading district on Monday morning.

The fire broke out at the house of Kishor Chandra Thapaliya. Thapaliya, his daughter Yojana, son-in-law Anil Dev Gharti, and his granddaughter died in the fire. Thapaliya’s daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter had come to attend a marriage ceremony of Thapaliya’s brother Pawan on Sunday. Thapaliya's wife Aadkumari Thapaliya injured in the fire has been receiving treatment at a local hospital.
A neighbour, Milan Silwal said as they were burnt to death on the second floor of the house. But those sleeping on the ground floor of the home escaped the tragedy.
The house has been completely destroyed in the fire, said the Area Police Office, Gajuri. The damage of the fire has been estimated at Rs. 5 million.
